What are the non-bikini folk wearing on the beach this summer??

I'm looking for a swimsuit/tankini that isn't black, but sucks everything in without looking matronly. Doesn't such a thing exist? I'm size 12-14, lumpy and pale. BlushGrin

So what are you wearing??

This In black.

Team with floppy hat and jeweled sandals. My DH thinks its gorgeous.
I'm usually a bikini wearer but this has converted me.

TereseaGreen · 15/05/2014 10:47

Obviously it comes in blue/green as you don't want black Blush

I would advise trying a good bikini on. I am 12/14 and tried a bikini on for a laugh last summer. I had never even tried one on before and I was amazed how much better I looked than in a one piece. There was a whole thread about this last year. Mine is from bravissimo their swim stuff is amazing

This. It looks much better in real life. I also got a polka dot one, they are both very flattering to my only 4 months post-partum stomach.

Teresa that's gorgeous! Really glam and a great price. I had been eyeing up a Seafolly version of that suit for silly money, but I actually found something similar in navy in Penneys (Primark).

It's got a slightly less pronounced boyleg, but it was 12 euro and is incredibly flattering. I am 15 weeks pregnant and going on holidays when I'll be 17 weeks, so I'm all inbetweeny. Proper maternity swimwear is too big on me but I feel self conscious in bikinis, so I'll be watching this thread with interest.

By the way, sorry to hijack but anyone know where you can get a decent large cotton scarf/sarong for wearing with a bikini?

Thanks everyone. Some good inspiration there.

CerealOffender Thanks for the tip, I'm off to search for that thread. Although when it comes to my body I am sceptical a bikini would look better...

I have had success on the Next website - it is new territory for me to need a structured swimsuit for taking the DCs swimming when I am feeling at my most unfoxy of all time - I have ended up with 3 I like - and was amazed at the amount of choice with tummy control and structured tops too.
Actually my choices may well be matronly but sadly that seems to be what 2DC have done to my body for now!

I can't remove hair from my bikini line for medical reasons, I like swimshorts - surfer style, with a bikini top, best of both worlds! But I also have a 1950's style gingham swimsuit that I love.

Cereal0ffender · 16/05/2014 08:15

here is the thread I had never worn a bikini in my life before this

DidoTheDodo · 16/05/2014 10:40

I wear a wetsuit! Everyone looks like a seal in a wetsuit!
