Calling any hairdressers ...

I know someone who has recently qualified as a hairdresser, and she does a very good cut and colour for another mutual friend. She's also done wash and blow dry for me in her home salon previously.

Up till now my usual hairdresser (6-weekly cut, colour, blow dry on mid-length but thick hair) has been brilliant. However, the price creeps up and up despite notional loyalty discounts, offers etc. and is now in the region of £135 a time without any treatments or buying any products. I am struggling to justify this amount, and unfortunately can't reduce the frequency of appointments due to regrowth issues!

So I've made an appointment with the newly-qualified friend for a wash and blow dry next week so that I can talk to her about whether she wants to be my new regular hairdresser. I feel I should talk things through as I have a few hates, mostly related to the colour. Any suggestions as to what I should be asking her? Will she be offended if I tell her that she is my money-saving alternative?

TIA
