Can I make this dress summery?

I've got a Summer party and can't really stretch to a new dress. I have this dress but I think it's far too wintery. Do you think I could accessorise and make it work for a summer do, and if so, any suggestions on what with?

Grateful for all suggestions!!

That is a stunning dress, and I would defo wear it with-

Pastel type accessories which are so on trend this summer-

earrings, but a cuff might be better

A pastel type clutch and then I would go for some bolder slighlty mismatching heels I love the style of these-

but would be better if in coral or turquoise

Could you belt the dress, again chose a summery colour skinny leather belt, or would it ruin the line of the dress?

WhoahThereCrazyHorse · 11/05/2014 09:08

Thanks, belting might not work for me as the dress is shortish and I think it would bring it up further - I'm a 5ft 6 pear with pretty awful legs!

Nilby I love those shoes but I think I'm better without an ankle strap as my legs are a bit short and stumpy so cutting them with a strap isn't flattering....

Like the pastels. Would neon colours work?

Lovely dress - I'd leave jewellery personally (to try and stop it being a bit christmas party), if I wore anything it would be a pair of plain coral studs. Like this.
Shoe wise, depends on if it's a day or a night do (and if you need heels or not)! I'd go for some leather sandals/heels - can't find anything exactly like I mean but Clarks has these, these, or these. If you don't want heels then flat, plain, metallic/bright leather sandals - maybe something like this or this.

Oooh. Or maybe I should buy this one!

I'd go for neon accessories I think. Or maybe no real accessories and some flowers in my hair, a pair of pale shoes (definitely not black) and a pale clutch.

TheHoundsBitch · 11/05/2014 09:18

I would go for really bright coral espardrille or cork soled shoes and some big colourful plastic bangles and some hoop earrings.

KoalaDownUnder · 11/05/2014 09:22

Summery-coloured shoes (either neon or pale), oversized or beaded clutch that picks up the colour of the shoes somehow, and one large coloured cuff in a matching or complementary colour.

Maybe a large cocktail ring.

No necklace or earrings.

shoes

WhoahThereCrazyHorse · 11/05/2014 09:41

What about these shoes?

TheHoundsBitch · 11/05/2014 09:43

They are lovely :)

mrssmith79 · 11/05/2014 16:36

They are lovely, yes, but for £80 you might be defeating the object a bit Grin.

Nocomet · 11/05/2014 16:42

I'd EBay the dress, it's a shapeless sack and buy something nice with the money, sorry.

Merguez · 11/05/2014 17:35

These shoes would be fab with that dress but much £££££

bouquetofpencils · 11/05/2014 18:57

I would go for silver sandals and clutch. Or flowery accessories.

cafecito · 11/05/2014 19:55

pale pink would be good if it's a dark blue dress? maybe>?
