Hair updo and make up - Central London salon recommendations

I have an evening event in London on the next couple of weeks and I'd like to book in a salon for a retro or classic updo with classic make up.

I'm staying in a tiny hotel room so a mobile person wouldn't be suitable. I have a window of about 2 hours to get ready for the event. I'm not very good at doing anything with my hair other than a straight blow dry (which I wear everyday) and want to look wow.

Please can anyone suggest a salon in London to glam me up please?

Blow in covent garden does this sort of stuff - prices are good.

Decadence salon in Store street off Tottenham Court rd is worth having a look.

I would go to a Hershesons blow-dry bar. You're restricted to their menu so check that there is something that you like but there is usually at least one updo. Then for makeup I'd go to a mac counter - you could go to the Hershesons in topshop oxford circus and then to mac in selfridges or the standalone store off carnaby street.

I'm all booked in at Blow - up do and make up for £36. My plan is to shower, get dressed at my hotel then go the the salon for 6pm then walk to my event a short walk away looking and feeling fabulous.

I hate walking into events in my own but with stilettos and a back combed up do I'll feel like a giant .
