How do you reduce those little red veins from your legs?

I don't know what they're called - spider veins? thread veins?
Apparently I've got them because I have my baths too hot. Also, I know my mum has them so it might be hereditary (but she also liked steaming baths too).
I've got them mainly on my thighs and I would like them to go.
Is there a cream or a treatment? Am hoping nothing to do with lasers.

They tend to be hereditary as are varicose veins. To my knowledge creams don't work although hot baths tend to make them worse and itchy. I have 3 hospital appointments next month to have my varicose and spider veins injected to kill them and healthy veins take over the blood supply. My doc reckoned on a 70% improvement. This treatment is covered by my medical insurance. You can also have laser treatment which may work more for the spider veins you have. Horrible, aren't they?! Mine are mainly on right leg but getting worse and mid thigh level. They do ache but my main reason for treatment is vanity

Mine don't hurt (yet). It's just vanity.
