Where can I buy safety backs for earings, or childrens safety earings?

Hi, I had my ears pierced when I was 9. I haven't warn earrings for about 10 years, but recently bought a pair and worked them through myself. One ear was quite painful, and I wished I hadn't started, but the other was very easy. The backs of the earrings aren't very secure, and they keep falling out. I can't wear them in bed for this reason, and every morning, I have to kind of re- pierce one of my ears.
I remember having my ears pierced the first time, they used special children's ones with chunkier backs which didn't fall off. Can you buy these anywhere? Or are there any others you'd recommend? Ideally, I'd like to be able to sleep in them. I'm not keen on hoops unless they are very small.
Thanks. Smile

I would try an ear piercing place - ask them if you can buy the earrings without having your ears pierced.

I bought a load of plastic/rubberry type earring backs from Kleeneze! very cheap and I use them on my DD (6) with no irritations

eBay maybe? I know which type you mean. I got some of those plastic or rubber ones but the hole was wide for some earring posts I had.

You can get small, silver hinged 'sleeper' hoops from high street jewellers. It may be worth investing in them instead of putting a post through an earlobe that is probably a bit swollen with haveing to be re pierced. And bath it often too.

Dd can only wear sterling silver with plastic backs. I buy them in Claire's accessories they come with silver and plastic/rubber backs so I just use the rubber ones. I put the earring and back in a bowl of boiling water to clean them and then replace the old earrings with them.
