Sandals - these are sold out, any alternatives?

I want some of these from White Stuff, but they are not available in my size (and they come up small, so probably wouldn't fit anyway). I want some brown/tan/neutral flat sandals to fit a wide(ish) 8. They can't have any jewels on them and I don't like anything that has a vertical line up the foot, like a t-bar. I would also like to avoid ankle straps. Am I looking for the impossible?

Ooh I was admiring these in WS but like you I would find them a bit small/narrow.

There are loads of things like this about atm though - try Clarks, Ancient Greek, Saltwater sandals - or these?

SoFishy, the one you link to is good, but I've never heard of them and so don't have any idea about the fit.

Varcas.......come in fab colours as well as tan, caramel, gold and bronze. Just Google them for their website. A bit stiff to start with but ease up well with a few hours wear. But quick, Toast has already sold old several times!

cressetmama · 07/05/2014 14:45

Sorry, that should say sold "out" several times!

Cereal0ffender · 07/05/2014 14:54

How cushioned are the varca sandals?

typedup · 07/05/2014 14:55

Thanks. Do you have any idea on the sizing? Would they fit a wide foot?

How about Campers there are some gorgeous ones this season I got the navy Laura wedges.

cressetmama · 07/05/2014 15:32

Varcas are not very cushioned but the sole is fairly spongy and I am expecting/hoping them to be fine for walking on roughish ground. They are wide fitting, because I have boat shaped feet!

Thank you Mrs Marigold. Those are rather gulp inducing prices, the WS ones were only £20! I live in wedges, but I want something for walking about in that isn't a sport sandal or a Birkenstock but that is relatively sensible. Good news about the Varcas, £39 though....

Asos have lots of nice leather sandals. The firestorm ones (their own brand) are very nice and about £20.

SoftSheen · 07/05/2014 15:49

Saltwater sandals?

pictish · 07/05/2014 15:50

clarks
Any good?

pictish · 07/05/2014 15:51

Ah no - they have an ankle strap, sorry.

Justinepants · 07/05/2014 16:08

I love Varcas. I'm on my third pair. They are extremely comfortable and I've walked a long way in them. I currently have nubuck ones in some sort of tan which go with all sorts of things. (I ordered leather ones last year, for a change, but thought they looked a bit 'heavy'). You do need to spray them with protector though otherwise they get a bit marked.

JessyJames · 07/05/2014 17:52

How about these, not sure about the fit though, Sandals

MrsMarigold · 07/05/2014 18:01

The only thing about Campers is they really last for years I've had some for over seven years and in summer I wear them all the time. Have you looked & other stories?

nipersvest · 07/05/2014 19:32

does my bum look 40 did a whole blog post of this type of sandal if that's any help

VarsityQueen · 07/05/2014 19:39

I like the Topshop ones, there is an ankle strap but it's cut at quite a flattering angle. You can adjust the straps at each end.

Yellow

Thank you very much for all the ideas. I think the problem is I really like the WS ones and want something exactly like that so I keep thinking, 'strap too wide', 'not plain enough', 'wrong colour' etc. Smile
