Black is the colour for summer- is this true?

There have been whispers on some of the TV shows I've been idly watching.
Black for summer.

Mmmm, okay. I know lots of people wear black all year round. And a black cotton blouse is just as cool as a yellow or red one.

And I bought a black/white dress today but I need to search out some sandles now.........

Must be. I have a yearning for a simple black dress (perfect cut, length and totally flattering ie non existent) with flat black sandals. Obviously, to be worn with a perfect golden tan. My body will morph into something 5 inches taller and a couple of sizes svelter (except my boobs which need to be even svelter than that for the dress of my mind to hang properly). Oh and the sun will come out.
So in short definitely. But reality says I won't be joining in. Have fun
