What sort of jacket should I wear with dresses?

Dresses are a bit of a new concept for me however after having zero success in finding trousers that fit/look ok (and also in anticipation of summer) I have bought a few, after realising they actually do a better job of disguising my lumps and bumps. (Am yet to actually wear one though - I feel to "dressed up" in dresses even though they are only casual everyday styles) What sort of jacket should I wear with them? I don't suit normal boxy style denim jackets but have seen a denim biker jacket on the Next website which I think would suit me better (sorry am on phone so can't link) Or is that not the right sort of style? I'm 5ft 2in, size 12/14 and dresses are knee length, if that makes any difference. Thanks Smile

I have a denim biker jacket which I wear with dresses. I am similar shape to you.
I also wear lots of cardigans instead if a jacket once it is warm enough. Blazer type cardigans can be comfortable and not too boxy.
I prefer waist length cardigans or knee length coatigans.
