What other skincare would you recommend? I have access to boots only tomorrow. Thank you.

that depends on your skin type, your budget and why it isn't working?

Crutchlow35 · 06/05/2014 17:35

It is making my skin dehydrated and dull. I am open to budget but. To wanting to get back to my clarins spending. Skin type is normal.

It didn't work for me either, same issue as you. Why don't you try swapping for the Una Brennan Rose Hydrating Cleanser. Use with a cloth as with the Superdrug one, I love it.

Thanks. I will keep an eye out for it tomorrow in Boots. I haven't heard of the brand before.

My message should have read not wanting to get back to clarins level of spending.

I use the Boots No 7 hot cloth cleanser and really like it. £10 but often on offer so I've never actually paid that.

i use lush oil cleanser and moisturisers. worth popping in and asking about them.....

MyrtleDove · 07/05/2014 17:57

It might be hot cloth cleansing that's not working for you. I find using water at all is drying on my skin - wiping off a cream cleanser with cotton wool (I should get some re-usable cloth pads really!) is what works best for me. I'm currently using a cheapo cleanser from a brand called Pure that I got in the 99p shop - orange bottle.

I tried the superdrug one after reading about it on here. It did absolutely nothing on me.

For a budget option I would suggest the cleansing balm, it has helped give my skin a glow and does not dry it out.

I also quite like Una Brennan products, have hot tried the hot cloth cleanser but the cleansing oiland clay mask are nice.

The first cleansing balm is the champneys one one sorry messed up my link.

There is a review from Caroline Hirons here I alternate with another cleaner so use it every other day. I rinse off with a flannel and hot water.

Guardian review of the balm here I don't like the sanctuary one listed here which is a similar price, I find it marginally better than the superdrug one.

Another review here where it stands up against a number of more expensive products When my Emma Hardie and Eve Lom run out I probably will just stick with the Champneys one and they are much more expensive.

Thanks you! I don't think it hot cloth as I have used clarins and liz Earle for years but may be worth trying another format just to be sure. Thanks for all your suggestions. Off to have a look!

The champneys one is IMO much better than Liz Earle and cheaper.

I use Boots Traditional cold cream as a cleanser, and wipe it off with a warm flannel. I adore it and it only costs a few quid.
