This is the dress,it's a maternity one from asos. What colour would you say it is?

I have been told nude shoes would go well so have bought a pair, I'm planning to match it up with a nude bracelet and a nude coloured clutch bag.

Does that sound OK? I need to find a shawl or a bolero though, my arms look hideous. :( made me quite sad to see really. :(

Anyone know any nices shrugs or jackets? Thanks in advance! Flowers

Oh the occasion is a night reception for a a wedding.

Petrol blue, maybe?

Catsmamma · 05/05/2014 23:40

blue slate, or petrol

Dunno about the nude accessories though, they'd tone, but I loathe Nude shoes and stuff.

See I'm rubbish at this stuff. Blush

Yes, I loathe nude shoes unless you are black or dark brown Grin. otherwise it looks like an extension of your legs!

I would put it with neon yellow! But maybe not all but splashes of it, like a bag that has a little bit of neon in it, and neon shoes, and jewellery with little bits of neon in it, not totally neon. Not sure those things exist!

I'd go for a silvery grey wrap/shrug, and a silver clutch and shoes. DP (who is an artist) suggests a warmer blue for a wrap, which would let you use gold for shoes and bag.

How do you all know this stuff?! Thanks for the tips, going to have a look round now for some of your suggestions, I've also been brave and had my hair chopped. [shocked]

He says 5012 or 5015 from this colour chart. That would let you accessorise with gold or silver, he reckons.

ThatVikRinA22 · 06/05/2014 00:16

silver clutch and shoes would be gorgeous - have a look at dorothy perkins or next for sparkly shoes and bags in silver and gold.....

BOFster · 06/05/2014 00:18

Stay away from black, anyway- it will dull it all down far too much.

Maisie0 · 06/05/2014 01:00

Maybe in the navy range of colours? I cannot tell the exact names.
I would advice that if you want to go for that "out there" look. With a dark colour like this, opt for a lighter colour for that "contrasting" look to look quite shape. [Smile] I also read recently about another concept, which is to wear a shade which differs to your skin colour too. So if your skin is fairly pale, then this colour would be stand out a lot more too. Then all your other accessories can be similar in nude tone, or say in similar slight shade of another blue.

Thank you for all the help, I went with silver in the end.
