What is THE bag to have if you only have one?

If you only had one leather bag that went everywhere - work, out with the children, etc and you wanted a few years at least from it being used everyday what would it be?

Budget to about £1300

Needs to hold stuff, not just a small handbag!

That said, if it's going everywhere and you want it to last a few years, choose something that will look good with wear. Trust me, worrying about the state of your bag is a ball ache. For me that would rule out the one above.

Sophie Hulme's bags are so lovely, if I had your budget dream on I'd get a tote and an envelope bag and a bloody nice lunch with the change.

I love the Lanvin too that colour is perfect, a bit over budget but this is one of my lust bags.

I vote for the paraty,I have one in black,and it ticks all your requirements,its super durable,stylish,smart enough for work but not too work-ish looking,a good all rounder,the Marice looks awesome too,

I think I would go with a celine cabas shopper as an everyday bag, or maybe bottega veneta,

Fossil, Large Tan leather tote. I'd go on holiday with the left over £1140

I would spend 700 each on two bags and alternate between the two bags so they last longer.
