Bare Minerals foundation or similar

I am battling to find a foundation that I really like. I think I now want to try the mineral powder one but after having a drawer full of liquid ones I don't get on with, I am hesitant to go out and get something that I don't know if I will like after a day.

I really like the feedback from the Bare Minerals one, but as we don't get it here, I will have to order from UK so I'm taking a chance with colour etc. And do I really need the kit with everything in it? Or, what other mineral foundations have you found that are similar, as the other brands we may get here. I find it very daunting going into shops and not knowing what I really want, as I end up spending a fortune that I haven't got to spend, as the sales person from that counter has swung me round...

So I am fair, freckly, sensitive skin (flare up eczema with any Clinique product) but I use Clarins day to day for skincare. I am looking for that lovely smooth finish that BM seems to give. Today I am using Physicians Formula Mineral Liquid one and I can already see its setting into the wrinkles making them look worse !

So if you cant get BM, what's the next best option?

I'm not sure if you'll be able to get this either as I have to order from the UK but I love Laura geller balance and brighten - I've got bare minerals but find it too much of a faff but Laura geller is solid, goes on easily, it's a mix of 6 colours swirled together so it really does match to your skin and you can still see your skin through it - it just evens it out and doesn't sit in lines and wrinkles - I wouldn't be without it

I sing about this foundation a lot.
Even the ladies at the bare minerals counter said it was better quality than their mineral make up.
Have a look at BELLA PIERRE mineral make up. It's ace!! Does so much for my skin. And looks amazing on!

Lily Lolo. Again, it's something you'd have to order online but they do little tester pots of their foundation for £1.49 so you can try a few to get your shade right.

Lily Lolo do tester sets in colour ranges. I'm quite fair so it was good to get 3 shades to try and mix to find out which works best

I have Bare Minerals too. I did stay at the counter for a long time to check and find the right shade too, but in reality, I am not too sure if it works so well for me. Because I during the day, I can see the actual powder drying my skin, and it sinks into the actual pores itself and it shows up as tiny dimples as I see it in the mirror. (Maybe from a distance, my face looks okay, but when I look at it from a mirror, I can see the flaws.) I have seen compared this with some lotion foundation, and I prefer liquid foundation. I also came to realise I have a dry to dry combination skin.

I recommend watching these videos.

I like her "neck test". Because I tested all my foundation and I found that when I bought them, I tested it in a small part of my face as Lisa mentioned in her video. I got a Laurier Mercier one and I thought that this was great, but in actual fact, it has a tiny pink undertone to it, and I can only use it as a tiny concealer on parts of my face than an overall foundation. I also got a Clinque one, and it shows my face to be far too pale. It really pays to really see your skin in daylight, and see the colours on your neck and on your face as well. I also realised I got a lot of red and rosacea as well.

For sensitive skin, I do not know if you want to check out these BB or CC creams that are available now. I also noticed that some of the French one are more medicinal than anything. So you may need to get something pretty special like that. I also get breakouts, but I try to help it with diets, and also with some harmonising and nourishing creams.
