Casual jacket to wear with maxi skirts/jeans?

Would really love to find a jacket to wear instead of my usual frog to cardi. All of my wardrobe tends to be navy or black maxi skirts /dresses (straight style) and I am size 18/20.
Does such a jacket exist?
Spend an entire day trawling the shops today but unsure of what exactly I should be going for iyswim? Help!

How about a fitted denim jacket? That's a great look with black maxi skirts/dresses IMO.

Go for a cropped denim one. Next have them in clearance.
