I need not one, not two, but THREE dresses for weddings. Help!

Please please PLEASE can you just hit me with suggestions!

I have 3 weddings coming up over the next month and no idea what to wear. I can't get to the shops until later this week, so am starting scouting things out online.

One of them I'm thinking I already have something I can wear, but the other two I want require new dresses. Given the quantity, I'd ideally like to not spend too much on either (up to £60 each would be ideal, but would consider spending more for something particularly nice)

I'm a 12ish (range from a 10 on top to a 14 on bottom, depending on the shop) and tallish (5’8, I think). I'm large of hip and thigh, so don't do pencil/fitted styles very well and prefer floaty/flarey. I am mid 20s, if that has any bearing on anything.

Help! All suggestions of dresses/shops most gratefully received Thanks

I like this, if only it was longer.

Would this be smart enough?

Assuming the 3 weddings will be attended by the same set of guests?
I would be tempted to buy one stunning dress and 3 sets of accessories.

PasswordProtected · 04/05/2014 12:30

Or, alternatively and depending on where you live, look for a good hire company.
I am afraid I didn't like either of the dresses in the links.

Hopefully · 04/05/2014 12:31

I wouldn't buy more than two dresses, even if exactly the same people will be at all 3. I'm sure they'll cope with the trauma of repeated outfits Wink. TBH I'd only buy one fabulous one and maybe wear a couple of diff pairs of shoes/accessories (one nude, one statement, perhaps?).

Hopefully · 04/05/2014 12:32

I bet that ASOS one is long enough, unless you are tall?

Hopefully · 04/05/2014 12:32

Oh, I missed that you are 5'8" Blush

EduCated · 04/05/2014 12:35

Hmm, could do one fabulous one. I was only really planning on buying two, unless I find an absolute bargain. I already have various accessories I was hoping to recycle.

I should mention I don't really do they're, btw, which is why I need help Grin I am extremely open to suggestions/new ideas.

I am a similar shape/size/height to you, and also favour flarey dresses. Have a look at fever London, someone mentioned it on another thread and I saw lots I liked!

EduCated · 04/05/2014 12:44

Ooh, thanks Curls, hadn't heard of them.

Quite like this - any thoughts? I'm not very good at the accessorising bit, could I make that look weddingy?

The orange dress is lovely, but I'm 5'4 and 93cm is quite short on me, are you sure about the length for your height?

YellowStripe · 04/05/2014 12:53

Tk Maxx usually have a good selection at non-bank-breaking prices.

EduCated · 04/05/2014 12:59

Ooh, hadn't thought about the length of that one Blush Where does length measure from? I'd want it to be in the above the knee but not bum flashing territory.

Quite like this, but again, not sure on length.

What about this one instead of the BHS one?

EduCated · 04/05/2014 13:03

Oh, I like this!

Ooh that website is FAB, Fairy! Very very suitable for one of the weddings!

Hmm, ok, have one potential from that website. Any more suggestions for sites to look at? Would like to find a couple more candidates!

What about wish want wear? They rent designer dresses for reasonable prices. I haven't used them yet but as soon as I have a special occasion I will do!

EduCated · 04/05/2014 13:56

I've never hired anything before. I don't know if I'd be a bit sad at spending money on a dress I don't get to keep?

Tha said, I love this

I'd do as Password says and one fab dress 3 sets of different accessories.

However, if you see a nice dress meantime in sale (they often do ones early-mid summer) and you're sick (e.g. by 3rd wedding) of wearing same dress then get that.
