Where can I get a nice pair of not too baggy linen trousers ?

Just that really. I have a decent pair from M&S from a couple of years ago - with a proper waist not a drawstring one which I like, but which have seen better days.

I've trooped around John Lewis, M&S, Next, even dragged myself into Dotty Ps & Monsoon, but can't find what I want. No joy online with Boden - all they have for summer is the baggy pj type linen trousers or skinny 3/4 jeans which look nice but would be far too hot abroad.

Any recommendations please.

I bought some from next online - straight leg ones - they aren't as baggy legged as last years.

I like the poetry linen jeans twinklestein - I've not heard of that brand before, is their stuff good quality?

Wildbill - I tried on parallel ones in Next but they were ridiculously baggy (could also be the vanity sizing which meant that the size 14 was too big for me even though I'm pretty heavy at the minute. Are the straightleg ones straighter than that and do they have a proper waist band?

I have a pair of what I think were last year's equivalent of these. Not exciting but they have been very useful.

i have \link{http://www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/trousers/pleats/linen-trousers-c401020p1728535.html\these from zara} pretty nice

Sainsburys have heavyish linen ones, haven't tried then but am planning too. I had a pair on from La Redoute today, got lots of compliments though they are very light and I was freezing!

More recommendations - thanks.

Justinepants I suspect I may have tried every single pair of linen trousers in M&S today ! I guess again vanity sizing was a problem - some of the size 14s were too big, which is ridiculous considering my weight, and I just couldn't be bothered to try a smaller size.

I was in Sainsburys the other day and can't remember seeing anything but will definitely have a look, and try zara when I'm in town at the weekend.

Poetry is generally good quality, but I would add, as it's quite expensive, that I don't think its quality always lives up to its price.

Those linen jeans do look very nice though.

Ah the poetry linen jeans are only available in the longer size - slightly relieved as £89.00 is a bit more than I had planned to pay. I've ordered some Next cargo linen trousers to be delivered in store , but I am unsure if I have already tried them on in store - at least I can try them on and return if not for me and bargainacious £20 !

Hi Rookie,
I sized down this year and I'm sure the leg is straighter than the usual yearly offerings at NEXT - I've been buying a pair or 2 the last few summers. Has the button and zip waistband with a thin drawstring tie. Pretty casual.
