Ugg slippers - are they worth it?

I wear slippers a lot at home and have to replace them often. At the moment I have a pair from the White Company which are nice and comfy but getting holey so need a new pair.

Is it worth investing in a more expensive pair, e.g. Ugg? Do they last a long time?

Nope... mine wore out way quicker than sheepskin ones I got from Costco for like £20. Would definitely not buy again.

I love my Ugg slippers. Have cold feet generally and these are fab and toasty.

I have a pair of Ugg boots I wear as slippers, feet are toasty warm. Previous pair were Bearpaw and kept my feet just as warm.

I have these but in a dark charcoal grey colour - bought from outlet for about £50 going strong after 3-4 years, I’ve just bought some for DD in pink

Have mine 5 yrs..so comfy will replace this year. So comfy

I had some a couple of christmases ago as a gift and didn't think they were anything special considering the price difference between the branded and multitude of unbranded options and I'd much rather have a vegan alternative.

Yes, they are great. Cashback on Quidco as well.

For which retailer ?

Nat6999 · 29/09/2022 02:02

I have the Next sheepskin slippers, virtually the same as the Ugg ones, I had some fake Ugg ones which lasted for years.

HerRoyalNotness · 29/09/2022 02:09

I bought MIL some about 6yrs ago, still going strong. She loves them

mackthepony · 29/09/2022 02:14

Yes, ugg slippers are worth it. Had mine two years, they barely look worn. Wear them all the time

Appleblum · 29/09/2022 02:16

Love ugg. Celtic is good too.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 29/09/2022 02:19

Yes, I usually hate wearing slippers but I live in my UGG ones. I got them pretty cheap off ebay, but I am in Oz so they are probably cheaper here. Worth every cent though.

mathanxiety · 29/09/2022 02:43

I have a pair that I got as a gift a good few years ago. I love them and wear them all the time at home. They're lined with real fleece and are moulded nicely to my feet.

Backtonormalnow · 29/09/2022 02:51

I have had mine for two years and I like them but they are nothing special and I wouldn’t say they are worth the money. I thought they would be super comfy luxurious but they are just slippers.

Good point about the smell - never thought about it but they don’t smell at all.

Given that this thread is 8 years old I'm hoping that OP will come back and tell us that she bought the Uggs and is still wearing them...
@Dancergirl

I got a black pair in a charity shop and they are soft and really warm. However I do have slippers from Primark too some fur type ones with a hard sole. The Primark ones are great too and are lasting as well and were £4. So you can get cheaper slipper that last too.

TKMaxx often has similar sheepskin ones this time of year for a lot cheaper.

Cutie101 · 02/10/2022 19:29

@LadyOfTheCanyon while I'm not the OP, my ugg slippers are 8 years old (possibly 9).
For anyone interested, they are still in great condition, keep my feet warm and I think they are fab! Got them from an outlet in the US and cost $44 (which was about £30 at the time...oh the good old days!)

Perfectlystill · 02/10/2022 22:10

Yes worth it
