Skinny boy jeans revelation!

I thought I'd share this, as having to buy trousers for skinny boys is such a nightmare!
Ds has recently grown, but only in height... We went to Gap, tried a couple of pairs of jeans and they were all ridiculously baggy.
I left him in the changing room to get some more and picked up a pair of straight girls jeans in his age and height size, and they fit him like a glove!
The label inside thankfully says "child jeans", so he is not embarrassed and I am very happy.

He also needs new school trousers, as he has finally grown out of his M&S age 6 extra long ones. He is 10.

Try Johhnie B teen range - he does different lengths, first time a pair of trousers has even vaguely fitted ds.

I have exactly this problem with DS1. He is 7 but tall and skinny as a rake - just like me not. Grin. I sometimes wonder exactly how his insides fit as he practically disappears when he turns sideways. I bought him some age 8-9 Lee skinny jeans from Sports Direct for the bargainous price of £10 and they fit perfectly. H&M do good skinny jeans too but they do tend to go at the knee

Same ptoblem here. Have recently had success with johnnie b. Will check out gap. Thanks.

Oh, I never tried Johnny B trousers - will give them a go!

Ds1 was like this. He lived in trackie bottoms until he could fit into men's jeans. He started at a 26 inch waist with a 30 inch leg.

He is now between a 28 and a 30 waist at 18 and 6 foot 1. He was well chuffed when he reached 10 stone last year. He buys a 30 and wears them low slung (which I hate).

Ds2 is skinny, but not as tall. Gap jeans aren't too bad. We buy his school trousers from Next. I think we get the age below, but extra long and they are only a tiny bit too long. Anything else and he just looks like a sack of potatoes. Don't bother with m&s, they are huge. Even an age 9 extra long was too big when he was 12.

Tbh Adams was the only place which sold trousers which fitted ds1.

My son buys girls skinnys too! Shhhhh - he'd kill me for saying

We also swap. diesel and gap.

I've used that trick for nephew. He is a skinny stick but wants drain pipe skinny jeans! H&m or river island girls section usually comes up trumps too

I seem to remember there was something about this trend a while back. My DH wears a pair of my post-baby jeans that are too big for me - he may not thank me for sharing this!

It's only fair: last century when women started to wear jeans they had to wear men's. Seems there's still less of a stigma attached to that.

Fairylea · 03/05/2014 08:05

My dh wears womens skinny black jeans from primark :) he is ultra trendy and they are the only ones tight enough. .. He asked another bloke where his were from and that's how he found them. He is a size 10 in them and a 32 leg :)

AnnabelleDarling · 03/05/2014 10:03

My ds wears girls skinnies from H&M, they have far more stretch than the boys jeans and really fit him well. The Gap boys skinnies are really baggy on him. The skinniest boys jeans we have found are Zara skinny, they don't sell them in all branches but worth searching out.

AnnabelleDarling · 03/05/2014 10:07

I had a funny conversation with a young male SA in Gap when I was returning the skinny jeans I had bought ds. I explained that they were too baggy for him, SA said he had the same problem finding jeans that are skinny enough and so he wears women's jeans. Said the only problem was they they can be a bit tight in the crotch area!

Eliza22 · 03/05/2014 10:08

Johhny B and Next do great skinny boy jeans. My 13 yr old loves them. He's like a racing snake. No hips and colt-like legs! Smile

Fairylea · 03/05/2014 10:16

Oh yes the crotch area can be a big tight. I have banned dh from wearing any other colour than black... they look a bit obscene otherwise!

50ShadesOfSummer · 03/05/2014 11:34

Fairy the pair my DH wears were size 12 H&M IIRC!

They fit him well in the crotch area Grin!
