My findings as a platinum blonde - update to the shall I go platinum blonde thread

Update on my platinum blonde status.

Good points;
Looks awesome
Makes all my clothes even unstylish things look more stylish
Get lots more male attention
For some reason my complexion looks either healthy or kind of ethereal - even washed out still looks cool
I use eyeshadow to create some really good looks and it all kind of goes with my hair instead of looking to made up if you know what I mean

Bad points
I turned it purple by leaving silver shampoo in too long
I get a bit obsessed by brassy ness
I am obsessed with roots
I get lots more blonde jokes even though I was blonde before nothing compared to now
I don't feel I can rock the grip up fringe in quiff look anymore and it used to be my thing
Infact any gripping looks silly now
Think a tan might took trashy :-/

Changes I had to make
Can't really wear strong eyeliner - can on top lids like liquid flick but black doesn't look as good as it did
I use eyeshadow now instead of eyeliner
Eyebrows have to look lighter although I still like them to be defined

Will I stay like this? For now. :)

I'm platinum blonde too and have learned to embrace my roots and make them part of my look. Also the gripped quiff - I think it can look really cool.

Agree that a tan might look trashy but I think it depends on how dark you go (either naturally or via a bottle). I am softening the colour a little more as we go into summer but still keep it on the platinum side of beach blonde, iyswim. Will return to all out glorious platinum-ness (?!) in October. I think it just works better on me with a more "done" look which is my usual autumn/winter style.

Sounds far more positive than negative. Smile I'm too dark to ever go blonde but I've always fancied it.

I sat next to two women in a restaurant last night that both had glossy blonde bobs. They both looked so put together and classy.

Ujjayi - I had my roots done after 3 weeks but only as I had an important business meeting. I'm planning to leave it much longer this time. How can I incorporate them into my look? Help! :)

Coumarin - I think my preference would either blonde or dark and glossy. My natural hair is plain and mousy so going dark would be amazing but think the pale roots would look dodgy! :)

I'm dark and glossy (once I've straightened the wild waves). I think we always want the opposite. Smile I do always admire blonde hair though, especially in Summer. It looks so fresh.
