Noa Noa - going out of business?

mousiemousie · 25/08/2006 17:56

My local Noa Noa hasn't had any new stock since spring...no summer collection, and no autumn collection so far either.

Does anyone know if this shop is going out of business? Has anyone seen any autumn stuff in their local Noa Noa shop?

I reckon mumsnet will have the full low down on this story

I don't have a local NoaNoa

NomDePlume · 25/08/2006 17:58

Have you tried googling ?

MrsBadger · 25/08/2006 18:04

well, their website is still up and running, and is showing both an Autumn and a Christmas 2006 collection, so maybe it's just your shop.

mousiemousie · 25/08/2006 19:47

tried googling: googling is less powerful than mumsnet

I think it is a franchise so perhaps it is just my shop...anyone have any more info?

That skirt is amazing, you know the one I mean?I saw it in a shop recently,I looked at the ribbons down the front and thought 'that looks nice'then I turned it around and WoW it was all ruches from top to bottom!Would you have the nerve to wear it??I love it.

controlfreaky2 · 25/08/2006 21:52

ask them!

mousiemousie · 26/08/2006 08:58

I asked the staff who say they don't know!

I have only seen that skirt in a picture layla - where have you seen it in real life?!!! Sounds like the new autumn stuff has arrived in at least one shop from what you say?

Pollyanna · 26/08/2006 09:05

the Noa Noa near me closed down a couple of months ago.

mousiemousie · 26/08/2006 09:24

oh dear Pollyanna - not looking good for my local one then...whereabouts was yours? I think the ones in Hampstead, Enfield, Cambridge and one other are all owned by the same people...was your shop one of these?

chonky · 26/08/2006 09:34

They've just opened a new store near us - literally two weeks ago.

mousiemousie · 26/08/2006 10:42

chonky what part of the country is the new store in?

Hi Mousiemouse,it's gorgeous in real life.I saw it in a little shop in Church st in Sidmouth in Devon.I can't remember their name but I guess it could be Noa Noa.HTH

hermykne · 27/08/2006 14:26

some noa noa shops are run under franchises, so maybe its just your local franchissee shutting up shopp

Pollyanna · 28/08/2006 20:30

yes, Mouseiemousie, it was the Hampstead branch

mousiemousie · 29/09/2006 17:42

Layla, I ordered the ruffle/bustle skirt on the internet! Now we will see if I have the nerve to wear it!

My local shop has almost nothing left in it, they say they aren't closing down but they clearly must be!

Can anyone recommend a good Noa Noa shop in East Anglia or London?

OP posts:
berrycherry · 29/09/2006 18:02

Layla, I think that shop is called MIA (close to a photographers?)

You can also get Noa Noa in PLum in Gandy St Exeter

Noa Noa sell wholesale to independant retailers, and have some of their own shops too

Murphee · 29/09/2006 19:06

I noticed the Hampstead branch was closed yesterday - seemed weird since I think it only opened on that site this year. For what it's worth I first came across Noa Noa in Sweden and was told then that it was a Danish set up. I went into a brilliant branch at Southwold in Suffolk in the summer.

arsenelupin · 29/09/2006 22:04

Autumn range in Noa Noa, Park Street, Bristol, this afternoon. No nearer East Anglia or London, sorry!

mousiemousie · 30/09/2006 09:33

Southwold sounds like a good one for me to check out! Not close to me really but I have a friend near there!

Oh no is the one in Cambridge closing down..I LOVE their stuff - mind you I don't buy that much. Some of it is a bit weird and tres. expensiive. And I also love their kids stuff!

Fimbo · 30/09/2006 10:05

I think there may be a Noa Noa concession at House of Fraser in Chapelfield, Norwich. I will be there later today - do you want me to look?

mousiemousie · 30/09/2006 10:53

Fimbo how kind of you. I'm looking for somewhere that does a big range rather than just a few things, so probably searching for a Noa Noa shop rather than a concession unless it has a big space within the store.

OP posts:
Fimbo · 02/10/2006 12:54

Mousie, I didn't go into H of F but my friend reckons they have a concession and also in Jarrold's. I would imagine they are both quite small (especially in Jarrold's) so probably of no use to you.

mousiemousie · 02/10/2006 19:50

Thanks Fimbo, will check them out if I am in Norwich but maybe not the right venue for a specific shopping trip.

Really kind of you, I appreciate it
