Jeans and jumper - how to make it more stylish?

I'm so tired of my boring jeans, jumper and scarf "mums uniform". Any hints on small changes or accessories I could add to mix it up a bit?

I'd love to see some links

I quite like going for a plain jumper and jeans, then push the sleeves up on the jumper and wear a stack of bracelets (until they annoy me with their jangling and I take them off!). A bit like this.

I like to put interesting things in my hair when I dress down - ribbons, flowers, scarves..I wear one like this picture quite a lot.
I buy a lot of junk jewellery and wear it layered over jumpers. I also have a lot of different sort of Converse, ASH trainers, Isabel Marant wedge trainers and VANs. In winter I wear leg warmers over my jeans and trainers which I think looks cool

I like a statement necklace with my jean/jumper combo Smile

Different shoes or coloured shoes/trainers.
Roll up/cuff your jeans.
Jewellery eg statement necklace.
Buy jumpers with interesting detailing so you don't need scarf or necklace or a patterned jumper.
Bright coloured bag.

Agree with QueenC - I roll up my jeans, wear statement shoes (favourites and getting a lot of love, including from my daughter's Y4 teacher - 25 - yesterday, are my leopard print skate shoes), jewellery, nice jacket, roll up sleeves J Crew style (look at their images, you'll see what I mean).

A eye catching large bracelet (I don't get to wear my nice jewellery 'out out' much because I'm a SAHM so I wear it during the day), roll up jeans with a big cuff and a non-black/tan bag. I like dexter's bracelets.

Do you have a leather biker jacket? I often wear mine with plain jeans/jumper/scarf and It makes the outfit a bit more interesting. I don't know if you like leopard print, but I love it on shoes and it goes with pretty much any colour. One of my favourites combinations is leopard print ballet flats, white jeans and a navy jumper with a jade green and grey statement necklace. You could Google something like casual outfits with jumpers ect, I do this sometimes and its great as I end up paring items/colours In a way I wouldn't have thought about before.

For me a shirt under a jumper is a must. I've always worn this combo and it has become more popular lately. A plain white or chambray shiry looks fab under most colours

I really like this look scroll down to the coral jumper combo

Newhere2 · 30/04/2014 13:08

Romcom, I love that look. I usually do that with a grey / black but the colour really makes it look so much better
