PLEASE can somebody help me find a white summer top that ISN'T see through?!

Bought some nice chinos, shorts and bistro crop trousers from Boden in their 25% off thing last week. Very happy with my purchases, but I now need some white tops to wear with them.

I ordered some of the white t-shirts and vests from Boden when I ordered the bottoms, but found them far too see-through. Since, I have been on the look out for white summer tops that aren't see through. I've been Next, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins, M and S, had a look round Debenhams, and have tried all the supermarkets.

Can anyone help me? I'm after cotton preferably. Preferably something not too loose and drapey. Vests, t-shirts, short sleeved shirts etc acceptable. I'm actually willing to pay as much as I have to, but I am a size 16/18 which might limit me a bit.

Actually, I will relax my requirements - it doesn't have to be cotton, I will suffer viscose if I have to (though would prefer not to)

I'm actually not bothered about my bra being shown. It's more the "cheapness" of the look of it I don't like!

I saw this and another broderie smock style top in Ft Face the other day. I don't like that brand at all usually, but these were very nice and not see through.

I saw a lovely one in Gap (surprisingly, as Gap has been rubbish for ages). It had a plain white t-shirt front and then broderie anglaise (sp?) back - v pretty.

Sorry can't do link on iPad but I got the Boden Marcy sleeveless top. Not at all see through as it's lined. Still available in your size and reduced now!

Is the Marcy long enough to cover a bit of a belly 2madboys?

I found the length ok. It's not massively long but not really short. Tons of reviews so may be something in there.

For v plain white short sleeve t shirt, try Banana Republic. I also live in the Boden long sleeve essential t shirt which definitely isn't see through. They do a short sleeve version too. It is utterly plain and classic and cotton.
Those are the only places I have ever found plain white non see through ts shirts. I am about to work through the list above for prettier ones. Thank you OP

I second the Boden recommendation for plain t shirts. I like the scoop neck ones. Not see through at all.
