semi perm hair colour not lasting

my frizzy grey hairs at the temple and hair line no longer seem to hold onto semi permanents for very long anymore. I don't have a huge amount of grey so only colour these bit with a semi -one of those which are supposed to last 28 washes- only now they seem to last only for a couple

I don't want to embrace the grey yet as I feel it makes me look older than I am and it also doesn't look good against my grey skin Grin

Anyone anything they can recommend please? I don't want to dye all of my hair, just the temples and hairline round my forehead

Ta!

No idea but I'd like to know too.

piratecat · 09/05/2014 21:13

permanent i'm afraid.

Trouble with grey hair is it's porous so it grabs the colour but then loses it quicker.

What brand are you using? Maybe put a thread on Style and Beauty, you should get some answers there?

I use permanant too, even with that the greys fade quickest Sad

You could just buy permanent dye and a tint bowl and brush from the pound shop and just mix up the amount you need if that's a concern? I have short hair and I generally use a third of a pack of permanent dye each time I do my hair.

piratecat · 10/05/2014 08:35

how do you get the mix just right?

SandorClegane · 10/05/2014 09:13

I usually mark the bottle of developer into sections and add the colourant from the tube by eye, seems to work fine.

SandorClegane · 10/05/2014 09:14

I mean I squeeze what seems to be a third of the contents of the tube in if that makes sense?

SandorClegane · 10/05/2014 09:15

Cheaper too!

I changed brands, worked for me.
