What to wear for tea at the Dorchester?

My brother's bride's hen weekend is kicking off with tea at the Dorchester.

This is lovely, but I've got nothing to wear. I'm 38, pear-shaped size 14-16 after DS3, not looking great at the moment. I've several old sundresses (mostly Joules), but I want to make an effort. And all the others will be a decade younger.

It'll be June, and I'll be coming to London by train. I'm just staying for the Dorchester tea bit as I'm feeling a bit ancient for the cocktails and clubbing.

Can anyone help?

Lucky you. I went last year with a friend as a treat. It was lovely. We both wore maxi dresses but not really fancy ones. There was a real variety of clothing from jeans to suits!! I think just wear something you feel nice in and that stretches to accommodate all of the cake!!

Ooh, answers! Thank you!

Have never shopped in Banana Republic but that is a great outfit. Had been thinking of demurely sexy dresses, but love the blazer. Will go try it.

Thanks for your help, ladies Wine

…but under the circus, that should probably be Brew and Cake!
