I have very very fine poker straight hair. apart from a few deviations I have always had some form of a bob. periodically I try a long bob or long style but cant get any volume in it and it looks lank. doesn't tie up well. my one experience of a crop left me looling like a memver of a 90s boy band with curtains and I sobbed for a week. it only looks nice if I wash and style in the morning.
have dc3 due in a couple of weeks, and currently have limp crap pregnancy hair in a growing out graduated bob. desperate for a cut but dont know what to have!
ideally something I can style in 2 mins as soon wont have time to wash it each morning. also fancy a nice modern change. I dont have a great hairdresser I am still flitting from one to another after moving towns.
suggestions please! short bob? asymetric bob? let it grow?

Could you have a short but more sideswept or soft/feminine cut?

Then, what you need is volumising powder this kind of thing (a few quid from superdrug). I have straight, fine hair like yours and I spent years trying to find the cut that would work – I've concluded there isn't a cut that will make my hair look good on its own, but since I discovered this stuff (thanks to MN) I can have thicker hair that holds its shape and doesn't take any time to do. You just rub in a tiny bit of the powder at the roots.

how have I never discovered this? if you dry it the night before will this oomph it all up again on the morning? does it really work when hair is dry and flat?

I'm not sure about the overnight thing as I wash my hair every morning, but yes it works on dry, flat hair!
