My hairdresser is leaving

I've had a call from my salon this week to tell me that my hairdresser is leaving before my next appointment. They clearly want me to ring back and arrange to see someone else.

I have been ill for years until recently and at one point had lost over half my hair. It's finally growing back now, but is still v messy because of all the short growth.

My hairdresser is the only one I have seen during the bad years who never passed any unsolicited comment about my hair and I love her for it. She has been with me through some bad times and now she's leaving.

I don't really want to see anyone else. If I ask, will they tell me where she is going? I really don't want to lose her.

Completely understand a good hairdresser needs to be a keeper
Salon may not tell you, they might be aware you'll follow her
Can you call her at salon and ask her directly

Could you find her on Facebook and come friends with her-she's bound to post an update about where she's going to her friends?

Mine left recently too. Gutted. In a fit of mad panic, I box dyed my hair. Mistake. It (predictably) looks fecking awful. Brassy and shite. Cue me washing my hair 3 times with purple shampoo to try to tone it down. It seemed ashy on the box. FOOL.

Send her a card in a sealed envelope wishing her luck in her new job, thank her and add your mobile phone number?

Oh, and to avoid embarrassment, make an appointment with another stylist, but cancel it if you have success following the old one.

Lovely - thanks.

Small yet thoughtful leaving present and a card looks like the way to go.
