Hello...

Does anyone know where I can get nice summer shoes, trainers, sandles or anything similar in a child's 6g with a wide instep?
Clarks are useless....

Many thanks

Clarks are useless full stop. Try independent. We like pepino by ricosta they have arch and ankle support (unlike Clarkes).

My boys have a high instep and we find start rite good.

We always seem to get ricosta, start rite or pablosky ones to fit (wide feet and high insteps).

YY to going to a good independent

Have had ricosta too.

Following.

I'm an ex-Clarks trained fitter.

My LO has a high instep and Doodles aren't wide enough for him.

Just for holidays I've bought him one size bigger than his Clarks shoe size in canvas espadrilles from Primark. They have elastic gusseting either side of the instep. I checked the fit and they're fine. Fit is less important IMO for canvas shoes as there's a bit more give in them and going up a size to get the right width is fine so long as they don't slip at the heel.
