Ideas for a short haircut

I've fried my hair with bleach, its been two weeks of intensive conditioning and its gonna have to go. (I left it on the pre bleached lengths for too long, the roots are fine. It was a different brand to what i usually use)

I need an idea of something short, but ideally that I'll still be able to put extensions in (its my sisters wedding in six weeks and i want to wear my hair up) so cant be too short.

I imagine you'll need an idea of face shape of whatever, so here's an extremely attractive selfie Grin

No idea about extensions, sorry, but there are lots of shortstyles on here because I've finally braved getting all of mine cut off, after spending months thinking about it! Mine's now a pixie, so shorter than you want.

Might something likethis work?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/04/2014 11:26

Hi Beyond - find out how much length you'd need for extesions first.

I've just had mine cropped (getting bored with long bob) and dyed it coppery instead of my usual brown - as its so short, I've not got over-lapping which is great.
Mine isn't a pixie,, I've got more fringe but looking at the photo, the first thing I noticed (and I can appreciate that it's a blank canvas selfie) eyebrows.

Do you use eyebrow crayon/pencil/wax/powder
It really gives a focal ponit , then build on that. (I have very meh eyebrows, everything vanishes without them on my face)

Short blond hair in a pixie crop looks really snappy. Envy @ blonde hair

Try searching for pics of Vanessa Paradis and her recent short cut, I thought it was chic.

BeyondTheVirtualActivist · 26/04/2014 11:42

Grin yes, i use eyebrow pencil - this is a literally "out of bed" pic

I have clip in extensions already, I dont imagine they need much length, I'm mainly concerned about it looking like i have a mullet! But if i'm wearing it up, I'm sure i can wangle it.

Remus, that is probably the longest i'll be able to get away with. The front might have to be fringe length as its already layered, then with the ends cooked, its gonna need about 2" off

Bill, i'll google her now, ta

Well the first thing I would do I'd embrace a pixie like Jean Seberg's in Breathless. I wouldn't faff with extensions on already over processed hair but I would put a light ash toner over the colour you have now so that your hair fits with your skin tone and eyebrow colour.

Milmingebag · 26/04/2014 12:56

Ps you can pull a pixie off with your face shape but a shorter one would work best.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/04/2014 12:57

Pixies can look v cute 'dressed' as well. Lovely

Cocolepew · 26/04/2014 13:02

I would go for a pixie as well and leave off the extensions.

Mil, i do have toner here already, just trying to avoid putting anything on it til its cut, so i dont make it any worse Grin

I think i might embrace the pixie! I prefer messier ones than smooth ones though, needs as little faff as possible for when my hands arent working

I love a messy pixie too. So easy to style with a bit of matte putty stuff.

Good for you-you have a great face shape for it. What sort are you looking at?

BeyondTheVirtualActivist · 26/04/2014 13:54

I quite like this one

No suggestions, I just wanted to say it looks really nice!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/05/2014 19:14

No ideas re product, but it looks good. :)

Chimchar · 07/05/2014 19:25

You look miles younger with your lovely new short hair!

I have short hair. I use shock waves re create styling wax.

It's not too heavy or greasy.

TheMightyMing · 07/05/2014 22:39

Like!!! You have a really nice face and can carry off the style! We (me, DH and DS ) all use either Vo5 matt clay or the texturising product - both in tins light or dark blue. Dip in and mess up!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 08/05/2014 07:57

Grin thank you

We have a couple of random pots of hair goo here, so will try them first (dhs hair used to be pretty much identical!) have a pale blue dye to put on it now... :)

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 13/05/2014 13:33

Love it even more every day!

Washed my hair earlier, it air dried in about 10 mins and i just rubbed some clay stuff in the front. I may never grow it long again Grin

I love it blue! I used to have a pixie and loved it, but I got a bit paranoid about looking like a boy as I have zero shape. It was just a maaaaassive pain growing it out when I decided I wanted to look like a girl again Grin

Ps I'm hugely jealous of your clear skin!

Chimchar · 17/05/2014 08:12

LOVE your blue hair! Looks ace.

Glad you are happy you went for the chop!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 17/05/2014 16:23

Thanks :)

I love the blue, sadly it has started to fade, but not quite faded and not very evenly, so is a bit of a weird colour at the mo Grin

No boyish figure here, no mistaking my gender!

Cocolepew · 17/05/2014 16:32

Oh it looks great!
