Hourglass and boyfriend jeans - impossible dream?

I'd love some boyfriend jeans but I just can't find any that don't make me look horrific. I'm 5'4" and size 10-12ish, with a small waist and ahem stately thighs and bum. Should I just accept that they're Not For Me? Grateful for any advice.

I have the same shape as you and have bought a couple if pairs, but have a look at p29 of this month's Essentials magazine for an eye opener! It's an article about dressing a stone lighter and it has a reader in various contrasting styles to compare how she looks. Sad to say, it has made me feel distinctly unhappy in my boyfriend jeans and I'm now looking for dark boot cuts again!
Having said that, I do have one slimmer-fitting pair from Tesco that I think don't make md look like a heifer.

these

Finger, I have a small waist and small bum & hips but wider thighs. I have the same issue. I have an old pair of Next ones which are good but CBA to go back in and try any on as it's such a painful experience.

I have these www.next.co.uk/x53184s7#890767x53 next slim boy fit, Which are slimmer than normal boyfriend jeans. I have larger hips and thighs but I actually think these are very flattering on me. Much better than the baggy boy fit kind

Witchywitch · 24/04/2014 19:17

Although. Important to note that they are large and also stretch. I am normally 12-14 but have these in a 10

floradora · 24/04/2014 20:30

I bought these in Sainsbury's
www.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/tu-clothing/products/women/cropped-boyfriend-jean/ but mine are a darker wash.
I'm a squat 5'2" size 10 but bought squeezed into the size 8 so they're not baggy. And only £16. Love them

BingoWingsBeGone · 24/04/2014 20:49

Flora I did actually buy some of those but they are really too big on the waist and tight over my thighs. I want 'boyfriend' jeans to be slouchy Sad

Fingerbobs · 24/04/2014 21:07

Thank you! I have been thinking maybe just return to bootcut but will def at least try these. Will report back...

I had these delivered today. They are slim cut and really flattering. I am 5'4, size 8-10 with skinny legs and boyfriend jeans usually look ridiculous, but these look great.

Hebburnisaplaceonearth · 25/04/2014 21:06

Try these asos ones here. I am a 12 (sometimes 14 depending on shop) and I have a size 10 though. They are a really good fit for my smaller waist and more generous hips...

And Sainsbo's wins, at £16. I am currently sporting a pair of their boyfriend (not cropped but rolled up) in a size 10 and look ok! Given that I was in the point of forking out squill ions on a Baukjen pair, I am exceedingly grateful for your wise words Thanks
