What footwear with leggings?

I have tunic-style jersey tops/dresses that I like to wear with leggings. I've been wearing them with knee-high boots, but what other footwear works?

I don't wear heels or flats (my back won't tolerate either) and I don't wear pumps (they won't stay on my flipper-feet). I have trainers, clompy lace-ups, clompy ankle-boots, lace-up ankle-boots, Birkenstock sandals and Birkenstock clogs.

Would any of them work with leggings and tunic, or do I have to invest in some more shoes? If so, what sort would work?

Converse style trainers aren't too chunky with leggings, I wear mine all the time (£9 bargain versions from Sports Direct!)

I wear them with DM's, converse or ballet flats. I don't see why your footwear wouldn't go in theory ( except trainers). Try them!

I wear riding boots, ankle boots, converse hi tops&low tops, ballet pumps, brogues and keds.

DD (10) has some really nice ankle boots that she wears with leggings. I would love a pair of myself!

Birkenstock sandals will work too when it's warm. Not trainers though.

No socks with shoes and leggings, socks fine with boots.

Or those little invisible footsie socks. I hate the idea of naked smelly feet in my shoes.

Ballet pumps, birkies or gladiators. Not trainers!

If I wear converse type shoes where you can't really see the socks I will wear black socks. But not with any shoes where you will see the socks.
