NYC Honeymoon Outfits

Ok. I'm off on honeymoon in a few weeks, a week in NYC with just me and DH. I need some new outfits!

We'll be dining out in a few high end (think 3 Michelin star places) and also doing lots of general sitting around and relaxing. We've been before so no major sightseeing - we basically want to pretend we are locals for a week.

I'm a size 14 (was hoping to be a 12 but my tummy post DD looks here to stay). I have fairly big boobs - 34G - and huge upper arms. Almost 5'6".

Anyone seen anything amazing that I could buy? Budget is up to £200 for a couple of outfits.
I don't need shoes - I can't think of a style I might need that I don't have!

Why not buy some stuff when you're there instead? I love NYC style

PrincessOfChina · 22/04/2014 20:12

I think I'll do that too Hermione! Good point though...anyone have any good tips for NYC shops. I'm usually in Oasis, Warehouse and French Connection here. Are there equivalents?

I love Anne Taylor and her other line Loft. Also like black and white, j crew, banana republic, old navy, coach for bags (they charge in $ what we pay in £ so some serious savings to be had), Michael Kors also Levi's are a lot cheaper there.

On a food note, Don't know if you've been before but we thought the magnolia bakery was seriously good and lived up to the hype.

PrincessOfChina · 22/04/2014 21:26

Yes, we've been before so will be hitting Magnolia Bakery again for a sugar rush.

Off to google Anne Taylor...thank you!

I think it's actually Ann Taylor - my bad

Please have a key lime cheesecake for me.

PrincessOfChina · 22/04/2014 21:33

I found it and really like. Thank you!

I'll force down a Key lime cheesecake for you!

Congrats on the wedding! Are you going to Eleven Madison Park? DH and I went and loved it. I can't remember what I wore. It was one of the best meals we've had. The staff were great and so less fussy than over here. Get the matched wines too!

PrincessOfChina · 23/04/2014 08:38

Reservations open for Eleven Madison Park next week so it's on the list to try. We have a reservation at Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare already so am super excited about that one! We're totally going to come back bankrupt!

I hope you can get in. We went the week before they announced it had gone from one star to three stars. I reckon it might be harder to get a table these days!

PrincessOfChina · 23/04/2014 09:15

Yeah, I suspect it's going to be tricky! Ideally we want a good two star place to be honest, so we can do a 1,2 and 3 star place in a week and compare and contrast!
