can I wear a jersey dress to my brother's wedding?

My brother is getting married at a beach hotel on the baltic coast. I really can't particularly afford a whole new outfit and wondered if i could dress this up with some nice jewellery or a hat or something! It has been lurking in my wardrobe for 2 years and has never been worn... this will give an indication of how I feel about dresses.

I think that's a lovely dress, great colour and totally appropriate for a wedding. Easily smartened up with accessories but the wedding sounds as though it might be a more low key affair? FWIW I am wearing a jersey dress to my brother's wedding and I'm a bridesmaid

Thanks. I honestly don't know how fancy it will be. Bride is latvian, which is why the wedding is there. But I think some high shoes and nice necklace and I'll be fine. Sure nobody will be looking at me anyhow!

Fab dress great for a wedding.
Just be careful with how dressed up the brides family might be some European countries get really dressey.
My parents are in Spain and its full on bling at Spanish weddings. Also my friends MiL is Maltese and her family were in cocktail style dresses, big hats and facinators and lots of jewellery.
You could easily dress that up or down depending on how you accessorise

Fwiw my hairdresser is Latvian and has recently attended various family weddings etc at home and I get the impression it's much more of a laid back casually stylish Scandinavian type vibe there - not at all blingy, as can be in S Europe, so that should fit in fine.

PS her family parties also seem to include adjourning to the sauna at some point in the proceedings, so perhaps you'll need your swimsuit too!

That sauna thing sounds fun! Tbh I had a kind of russian fur coat and diamonds affair going on in my head. But it's a mid-summer wedding.
