Hi
i'm desperately looking for a strapless bra or body to wear under my wedding dress. Only problem is i'm a 44DD
No shops near me sell anything so i have to resort to buying off the net, can anyone post me some links as i'm running out of ideas where to look.
TIA

How about some of these ?

JackieNo · 23/08/2006 19:12

One in ivory here (don't think it's the same as the other link)

hoohoo · 23/08/2006 19:15

Ooh those are really nice thank you

the second link you did, do you think it would be uncomfortable with the boned bit as i remember in my skinny teens i used to wear corsets to the pub and you sat down the boned bits kinda bowed out?

Hmmm - don't know. Not experienced in the ways of basques, I'm afraid - bumping for someone who might know...

MrsBadger · 24/08/2006 08:42

I'm not Experienced in the Ways of Basques either, but we've missed an important step here - what's the dress like?

If it's one with a laced back and a corsetted top you may find you get enough support from the dress alone so you won't actually need a bra. And if you do need one, do check it doesn't show through.

Have you looked at Bravissimo online ?

I was all proud till I realised Bravissimo doesn't go up to a 44 and was hence useless [shame].

Though I have now looked at that second basque and I don't think it'd suffer from bent boning as it looks like it stops at waist level - the bending would happen more on a hip-length basque that has to fold at your waist when you sit down.

m&s have a multiway bra that goes up to 42g but it is cut big - it's £25 and worth a look.
good luck

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/08/2006 09:35

Does it have to be strapless, HooHoo? Could you get away with thin straps? I wanted a basque to wear under my wedding dress but looked down and saw these two giant blancmanges wobbling away under my nose and decided I would be better off with a body with straps. It did give a much better shape and contained all the wobble.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/08/2006 09:36

Try Figleaves. Or Rigny & Peller if you're in London.

hoohoo · 24/08/2006 18:16

Thanks everyone the dress has a zip up the back and no corset....definately needs a bra. It has thin spaghetti straps which are detachable. in all honesty i would love a bra to have thin spaghetti straps but these are just as hard to come by?
P.s I live in Scotland.

I seen this nice thin straps but unsure if it would do the job so to speak?
would this do?

HooHoo, love, if you use something like that they'll be flapping about round your knees. It doesn't look like it has much support at all. Try Debenhams? I got a multi way bra from there which wasn't too bad. But I do think that if you are gifted in the nork department then you do need straps (esp if you are a bit of a porker like me).

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/08/2006 19:48

I have a nice bra from Figleaves, which is balconette and has pretty straps -sort of like this

Something like that might work?

Have a look at Figleaves - bet they have something which might work.

MrsBadger · 24/08/2006 19:51

don't think that'd do the job hoohoo, you need something a bit more stuctured. Strapless would I think be better if it can be managed - wedding day is not the time to be worrying about whether your straps are on show.

If I were you I'd do a figleaves order of the strapless bra and the bustier and keep whichever fits better. This isn't really something worth skimping on!

hoohoo · 24/08/2006 20:45

bought this what do you think
pretty bra

very nice! hope it does the trick

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/08/2006 22:25

Lovely! Like the plain one underneath as well. And both the models have big norks and the bras look like they support well and give a good shape.

Enjoy your day!
