Dear Style Council, what do I wear to a concert that I'd normally wear jeans to but its a corporate invite?

I'm still tempted to wear jeans but my DP is getting a bit shirty about this!!!

I have 2 hours to shop for a new outfit including shoes this friday and need to wear it the following friday.

I'm 10-12 (nearer the 12), a bit heavy on the thigh, 5ft 5/6, hate my legs so always wear trousers. I want to look stylish, modern, sexy and nothing like a mother of 3. I usually shop in Fat Face, White Stuff, Monsoon, sometimes Gap, sometimes M&S limited bit. I live in jeans and just normally dress them up. I have a fabulous dress, long, sleeveless with cleavage but its too dressy for a concert.

I have also run out of MN time and can't get back on here til my angels are sleeping this evening because I've waffled my way through countless other threads.

Someone SAVE ME.

zara have some great trousers for 19 quid. then are low slung boot cut and fitted. they alos have some pointed ankle boots for 35 quid or something like that.

or look in FCUK for a wide leg trouser

Zara, right, I've not been in there for a year. Thanks, good reminder.

Big trousers are in this season, so you can get a pair and dress them up or down. Or linen trousers (wide leg) if the weather allows. Zara/Gap/Topshop/French Connection all do great trousers

I'm booked for 2 hours of shopping tomorrow and will report back, Thanks all.

Jeans fine for a concert IMHO, even a corporate invite.

Nice shoes/boots, funky belt and jewellry and sexy top. Voila!

frumpygrumpy · 24/08/2006 10:32

Exactly northerner! I would have thought it was the only way to go. I still might, depends on the shopping..... Folks who don't agree with concert/jeans shouldn't be there .

I bought a bloody winter jacket and winter boots . Much needed but not much bloody use when you're trying to look glam, sophisticated, in control and like you're not shaking a dirty nappy off your ankle as you arrive.

I did buy quite a nice pair of trousers from Zara but they are worky and I don't go to work. I bought them because they fitted, thats crap isnt it. I ran out of time and had to run to the optician. Bum and tits.

I guess they're all gona see the real me. The one with raggy fingernails and wobbly bits who arrives flustered. Thats in season isn't it?
