Having a cocktail party for my 40th which dress?

Have both these dresses. I'm 5,6 and a curvy 14/16. Both are quite sculpting and sit just on the knee on me. I'm getting a spray tan and doing my below shoulder length hair in loose waves.

Oh yes please! That's my instinctive choice too but DH saying. "no black". I can understand where he's coming from as I have lost weight recently and he probably associates black with me feeling crappy about myself.
