Advice for a cover-up/shrug please

Advice please!

I mentioned on the Hoc Winter thread that I bought this dress and thought a white cardi might be ok. www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_120010263643_-1

I couldn't find one but found this navy linen shrug

I've never owned a shrug in my life but it would be a really useful addition to add to my wardrobe as I would wear it with short sleeve dresses.

The model on the JL link makes it look hideous wearing it with a white long vest - would it be ok for what I need - a summer cover-up for dresses which are navy/white?

The dress is lovely, but I think the tie-front of that JL shrug would detract from the pretty bodice detail. This Hobbs bolero might work better.

That Hobbs bolero is gorgeous, really inky. My worry about a bolero is that it might be a bit bosomy. I see your point about the neckline lady* Thanks.
