Sundress instead of shorts, it's my future

After years of persevering with shorts and tshirts I had an epiphany. They just don't suit my fat shape!
I have ordered a couple from tkmaxx online (look lovely fingers crossed), but any other recommendations very welcome.

A quick update, slightly disappointed. The only one I will keep is the halterneck dress, it's really flattering and a perfect length. The blue silk one was a bit formal and the other two were tiny.
Sigh, search continues.

I've just ordered this dress from Other Stories and hoping it will do a decent job of hiding my fat thighs and knees

Love that dress Chocolateteabag!

Chocolateteabag · 22/04/2014 23:06

Thanks Frankie - fingers crossed it looks half as nice on me

Have done a little search and found this sundress from Next which would work if you either can go braless or wear strapless/don't mid about showing straps. My bfing boobs have no chance sadly.

This is more ££ from Peopletree (but going to the right place) if only it was a bit longer damn my fat knees

I may need to crack out the sewing machine and make one - most sundresses are pretty simple designs of you can find a fabric you like.

this one from Seasalt is a gorgeous print.

The PP's who talked about thighs rubbing together need to get Lanacane Anti-chaffing cream

Or alternatively, start doing 30day shred or similar. Last year, after my first round of it my thighs ceased to rub for the first time in several years (I do watersports on holiday, so have to wear damp shorts all day!). This year after doing more I've nearly got a 'thigh gap' ShockGrin.

Sundresses or skirt/t-shirt combination looks nicer though.

these are the answer to the chaffing problem. You will never faff about with cream, deodorant or talc again.

Normally I slob about in cropped trousers, but as a 46 yearold size 16 pear a below the knee dress looks far smarter and less scruffy. Even though dropping a dress over your head is easier and the longer it is the less you have to worry about your legs being pale.

Seriously? In summer?
(I'm a 53 yo pear btw!)

MrsPear have you tried searching for 'midi skater dress'? Places like ASOS have them.
