Minimum amount of clothes needed for holiday

What do you think is the minimum amount of clothes you can get away with for a fortnight beach holiday? We go away in 7 weeks (parents paying), I have no holiday clothes apart from 1 tankini and a pair of knee length denim shorts and have spent what little I saved on the children. I could probably get together about £100 if I really but would like to spend as little as possible.

There are washing machines at the hotel.

Is there anyone up for the challenge?

pinterest is great for this type of thing. search for holiday capsule wardrobe.

remember that you can wear beach dresses/outfits more than once (maybe just changing the tops)

I have no idea however as I haven't been on holiday since July 2012!

What do you wear here in the summer, surely you have at least a few t shirts, vest tops? Sainsburys have 25% off their clothing at the moment. Saw some cheap and nice swimwear in there.

I've put on weight since having dd (now 1) and I couldn't fit in my old summer clothes - I spent last summer in maternity clothes. I got harsh over winter and binned the lot - probably not my most sensible move but that's before I knew we were going Blush

Will check out Sainsbury's my dad works there and I might be able to use his discount card too - didn't even think about it.

Off to google capsule wardrobe.

I think you could easily get a 'holiday wardrobe' for £100 or less if you go to Primark!

I've been to my local one this morning and got a lovely pair of white linen shorts for £5, and you can't beat their £2.50 vest tops!

For a fortnight's holiday the minimum I would take:

2 x swimwear
A couple of daytime cover ups/kaftan type tops to wear during the day when you're in the hotel. Matalan do lovely jersey ones in bright colours for £5.
2 or 3 pairs of shorts in different colours
selection of plain vest tops
5 or 6 different evening outfits; I usually wear dresses or playsuits in the evenings on holiday as they are easy to pack. Primark has loads of dresses and playsuits, also check out Ebay, you will probably get some 99p bargains!
Flip flops for daytime wear, sandals for night time, and some comfy shoes or sandals if you are planning on walking/sightseeing a lot.
A few necklaces/bracelets to jazz up outfits
