I have a hankering for some for spring as an alternative to ballet flats. I want something fairly classic but it's a fine line between that and not looking like my mother in law looking frumpy. Budget around £50....

Meant to say I ordered these asos ones but they are unbearably uncomfortable despite being the right size, so going back.

And me!

On reflection the asos ones are a tad small. I'm going to try them in the next size up.

I know that Next are not great generally but I got a pair of burgundy loafers in their sale last year and they are fab. They have a few here

Just above your budget. Saw these yesterday in real life and was impressed. Quite a lot of foot coverage, which you may or may not like:

I've got them in navy and they're are smart but not frumpy.

saw nice ones in m and s. footflove so very comfy, didnt look grannyish. £39.50 i think.

The Clarks ones are called Angelica Slice because they cut into your feet. I returned them and got the wide and they still cut into them. I have never had a more painful pair of flat shoes.

You probably have different shaped feet to me though and be fine.

clarks have a softer pair too, very comfy

I got these which are cheap and v comfy. Not sure they were worth the 'original' price but not bad for under twenty quid!
