If you are a short-arsed pear shape in your mid forties - what casual trousers do you wear that aren't skinnies??

Something like this:

With the bottoms turned up paired with Converse trainers (although I am too old for them according to another thread here) Wink

I have a couple of pairs like that - thanks for reminding me! Yes, I saw that thread about the Converses - I chose to ignore it Grin

Ditch the trousers option and go for a dress ! A sexy one.... ooo la la. :)
I am also a shortie, apple, found some bootleg new look jeans but actually, found that a shirt dress suits me fine. I went through my wardrobe today and I realised that I can't do trousers. The ones I had before, I thought looked okay, but I recently did another approach and measured myself properly. When I added the numbers together, some of the trousers mean that I needed to add height so I have to wear at least 2-3 inch heels to make it look better. I always kind of knew that I looked okay with heels, but I did not know why. Now I realised that I cannot do it. I followed this chart, and it is quite true.

Technically you could in theory try all those types of trousers, but because of height, you may find that a few of those kind of styles do not look quite right. Some may look better than others. You may be able to get away with cropped trousers. Or unless if during winter months, you can indeed try to aim for same colour, boots and narrow trousers too, to give you that "horse rider" effect. I know that as only 5 ft 2, I have to wear the same colour in the bottom half to give an elongated effect. www.youknowyoulovefashion.com/storage/prettylittleliars/season2/0210/0210Equestrians1.jpg

Let me show you something to make you see it a bit better. This girl did the measurements and I can now see more clearly why it may not work.

Thanks for those links, they were really helpful - and it would appear from the tumblr one that I am actually a 'sexy hourglass' rather than a pear shape. Who knew?!
