Since having dd (now 6mo) my skin has changed massively. I now have very visable pores, I'm starting to get wrinkles under my eyes, I get more spots than ever and it just looks dull and unhealthy.

At the moment I use sensitive baby wipes to wash my face and take off makeup as I have sensitive skin and a very low budget for cosmetics. I use l'oreal bb cream everyday, (special treat) and a soap and glory colourless bb (bday present) when I don't want makeup on. Both have spf.

Where am I going wrong? My pores look awful! My skin just looks crap all the time.

Any suggestions to help? Free or cheap solutions would be the best because I'm really short on cash. Help!

Try the information here. www.carolinehirons.com/2013/06/routines-cheat-sheet.html and www.carolinehirons.com/2011/07/cleansing-cheat-sheet.html
I started following this advice in January and it has made a huge difference.

To be honest I think it's the baby wipes, I usually use a wipe to take off my makeup but then use a sensitive cleanser afterwards. Any sort of wipe I find makes my skin really spotty.

It doesn't need to be an expensive one, I'm using a tesco own brand one at the moment which was like a pound or something.

Try it for a couple of weeks and u may be pleasantly surprised.

Oo and I also use clean and clear daily exfoliating wash every morning in the shower. And use the clean and clear oil free moisturiser. Both about £2 each.

Hope that helps! Let us know how u get on!

Stopping the wipes will help.

Just a simple cleanser gently massaged in and removed with cotton wool will help take the day away much better than wipes.

Wipes are terrible for your skin. I have acne prone, sensitive skin. I use Neutrogena cleanser, the green one and a microfibee cloth instwas of a face cloth- I find it exfoliates but is still gentle on my skin. I then apply aldi lacura day cream, it's made a huge difference in clearing my skin. I do this morning and night, and my skin has never looked better. And it's cheap too ?? I found my skin was crap during and after pregnancy, I put it down to hormonal changes, lack of sleep and a crappo diet. Try drinking more water if you can, I find it makes my skin a lot brighter.

Thanks for the advice. I had no idea the baby wipes were bad! I thought they would be really gentle. I will have a look for a budget cleanser instead. Will that help the visible pores at all? They look awful. This might sound mean, but I have realised that my skin suddenly looks like my mum's!

I do need to drink more water. I used to drink loads, but I feel like I don't have time to have a wee let alone remember to keep drinking.

I'll have a look at the link too.

Thanks very much, hopefully you will help me to look a bit better!

Iv just read the first link.

It's all seemed a bit much at first, but it does make sense. I was given a soap and glory set that has an eye cream in, so I have just taken my make up off (used a bit of Olive oil actually), used a flannel and then used eye cream, moisturiser and lip balm. Am I on the right track?
