I am going to my husbands work reception at the Shard. Still not back to pre baby weight so have to buy something but I have no idea what to wear. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you!

I'm recommending the Boden Chelsea turn ups to anyone who'll listen at the moment. Leg lengthening, slimming, fab quality fabric.

I've got navy and am going to get the blue floral. Will wear with a shell top or lace top like this: www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Tops-T-shirts/3_4-Sleeved-Tops/WA511/Womens-Embroidered-Flower-Top?NavGroupID=18

With a clutch and heels, you are good to go! There's a 15% off code knocking around.

Are you going to the cocktail bar?

Unless there is a specific, smarter dress code, Most people will prob be in work clothes having come straight from their desks. Bear that in mind before you buy a slinky cocktail dress which you may well stand out like a sore thumb in. Agree dark cigarette evening trousers and sleek silk top or jacket and heels probably a safe bet.

I'd wear a dress that is somewhere in between a formal work dress and a cocktail dress IFYSWIM? Or a relatively simple Roland Mouret style dressed up with good heels and hair.
