TRESemmé 7 Day Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment

It's transformed my dry, curly, frizzy colour treated nest hair and I'm thrilled! I usually wear my hair curly (with Boots Curl Creme) as straightening just doesn't last much longer than a few hours (if that), especially when it's damp.

But I used this yesterday morning and straightened my hair. I didn't even need to put a comb through it all day and it stayed perfect - no frizz, no waves, no curls, just exactly as I'd done it in the morning, also it's pretty shiny.

I woke up this morning and my hair was still pretty much perfect. It would usually have gone curly/wavy overnight, especially on the top and in the layers around my neck. Just brushed it, ran the straighteners through it only very briefly and it still looks great. Definitely a first for me.

You put it on after washing your hair, it's a cream but it's not greasy.

I didn't use their shampoo and conditioner but I'm considering trying it given the results of the treatment on its own.

It's also only £3 in Asda at the moment. No, I don't work for TRESemmé Grin just wanted to share!

Thank you. Could this be the triumphant conclusion of my 20 year quest for something to stop my hair curling up in damp air?

Canihaveaslice · 10/04/2014 21:48

I bought it but found it made my hair feel tacky and needing a good wash. I haven't used it since, maybe I put too much on?

moralimbecile · 10/04/2014 22:47

Does it contain silicone?

carrielou2007 · 11/04/2014 20:12

Tge one is Asda is the normal heat protection not the 7 day straight though. I bought one last week and gave been very surprised by it. Very similar results to using keratin treatment which I gave in and gave applied again (day three of amazing hair!!) so won't need to use thus for a while. Did not hold my super thick bush head hair in tge damp but closest thing so far - only needed two min GHD re-do!!

Eatriskier · 11/04/2014 20:22

I got this on Thursday and its fricking amazing. Doubt it will last 7 days, but even if its just used twice a week its worth it. My hair looks lovely and glossy in a way that only happens after I've been to the hairdressers. And my new fringe is not going mental too, just need a bit of straightening in the morning.

Skivvywoman · 11/04/2014 21:51

I use the shampoo and conditioner and I use the spray but can't remember the name but it's a tresseme one, and they are brilliant defo going to asda to get some of this Smile

Skivvywoman · 13/04/2014 21:47

Went and bought this yesterday and used it tonight...... And up to now it's bloody fantastic! Hair was straightest it's ever been with me drying it and it was a rough blowdry then straightened it no problem and feels silky smooth Smile lets hope it lasts!

Oh I bought this a few weeks back and got so excited but it made my hair feel terrible, really sticky and knotty! How many pumps did you use? I only used 2 but I wonder if one would have been better (only have a bob)

Skivvywoman · 14/04/2014 16:05

Mrs how longs your hair? As I used 8 squirts

What I'm wondering though is, I wash my hair every 2nd day I take it I shouldn't use any more on the 2nd day wash?

CecyHall · 14/04/2014 16:14

No good for my hair at all but I have a nearly full bottle I could send on if anyone is interested in trying it.

MrsMeow · 14/04/2014 17:35

It's in a long bob at the minute, just about long enough to touch my collarbone at the front. I'd have looked terrible using 8 squirts!

I think the idea is that it lasts 7 (ish) days even with washing, so I wouldn't use any more after the next wash :)

CountBapula · 14/04/2014 17:46

It's amazing stuff. I used it a few days before DS2 was born. I had him in a birthing pool and didn't brush my hair afterwards but even when I got home from the hospital it looked all shiny and bouncy and lovely Shock shame about the rest of me

The shampoo and conditioner are lovely as well.

Ironing the stuff into your hair is a bit of a ballache, though. Doubt I'll get to do it for a while now I have a newborn and a preschooler...

CountBapula · 14/04/2014 17:51

Skivvy it's supposed to last four washes, hence the 7 day thing - I guess they assume most people wash their hair every other day. My hair's long and very thick so I only have to wash it every 3-4 days - the treatment lasted a good 2 weeks for me.

glammanana · 14/04/2014 18:30

I do have trouble keeping my long hair from "flying away" do you think this will help it is waist length but is very fine saying that I do have loads of it and can never seem to be able to wear it untied as it goes everywhere with the slightest sign of wind.

Skivvywoman · 14/04/2014 18:52

Wow count fingers crossed it lasts 2 weeks with me, it was great getting up this morning and only having to run straightners through it Smile

PenguinBear · 14/04/2014 18:57

This would be great for me! Where can you get the 7 day one?

CountBapula · 14/04/2014 19:05

Penguin I got mine in Superdrug.

daimbardiva · 14/04/2014 19:23

What's in it? Is it full of silicones?

Skivvywoman · 14/04/2014 19:52

I got mine in asda for £3

itstheyearzero · 14/04/2014 20:43

Do you have to blow dry your hair properly using a brush or can you just rough dry it then straighten?

Skivvywoman · 14/04/2014 20:45

I rough dried it with a paddle brush and was much straighter than if I never used it, then straightners activate it

itstheyearzero · 14/04/2014 20:50

Great, I will try it then. I Can't blow dry my hair properly because its really thick, but if I can get away with a rough dry I'm sold!

CountBapula · 14/04/2014 21:30

Also, if you don't like your hair dead straight (as I don't), you can use your straighteners to curl your hair, so you end up with lovely smooth, shiny waves. (Obvs the curls don't last through a wash, but the smoothness and shininess totally does.)

Skivvywoman · 15/04/2014 08:02

Yeah count you can curl your hair as long as you curl with straightners or a wand to activate it (I seen a you tube video)
