If you live in leggings/boots/jumper type combination..

What kind of thing do you wear in Summer?
I'm big - size 20 (bleeeurgh!) with stupid big boobs, appalling rugby player claves and a fairly defined waist. I used to live exclusively in jeans/T-shirt, but this did nothing for me at all...this Winter I realised leggings and knee boots with fitted tops were most flattering. But obviously I can't wear these during Summer.

Any suggestions what I can wear that will be most flattering? I will be eternally grateful!

I like ankle skimmer narrow trousers (but not as tight as winter leggings) with nice flats and longer tops past my hips. Maybe layered tops if it isnt too hot outside, e.g.longer jersey vest with a lightweight shorter shirt over the top.

Oh thanks WildThong! That sounds a nice combination, and flats are always good!

I wouldn't wear leggings without my bum covered personally because they tend to wear a bit see-through there eventuallyGrin.
Short summer dresses are what you need over leggings. Slouch them down with scruffier items like cardis or scruffy shoes and you'll look like you've made no effort but still look prettier than others. Cropped leggings and sandals when it gets warmer - show the world your ankles!

Hmmm...dresses you say? I don't own any dresses....but I like the idea!
Thank you!

Good place to start is looking at Nomads, Joe Browns and Pepperberry short dresses on Ebay. These all do well-cut dresses but not too pricey. Last year Sainsbury's of all places were doing mini shift dresses in Viscose which drapes really nicely and is great for layering - keep an eye out.

Don't be afraid of sleeveless - get yourself a long sleeved stretchy shrug so you can have arms without your figure being hidden. Or wear a grandad cardi open over a dress to de-glamourise it.

I do short summer dresses over leggings too.

As the weather progresses then footwear morphs gradually - DM's, Converse, Ballet flats, Flip flops. Grin
