I have lots of nice different tones and colours through my natural hair colour, but I would like it a bit lighter. I don't want it to be all over peroxide blonde and lose the different shades. Is there any way I can get it lighter at home? I really can't afford to get lovely highlights at the salon, and have no real hairdressing skills. Is there anything I can use or should I leave it alone?

Leave it alone. It will probably lighten over the summer naturally.

My husband does my highlights for me, it's not rocket science but you do need another pair of hands.
A big Superdrug is what you need, they do a cruelty-free range called Smart Colour that has different shades of platinum/ash etc. and Lush purple shampoo to keep goldy tones away later.

Sun-in (the highest strength).

Ooh thanks

My dh is going no where near my hair. I would end up looking like a tiger.
