Moisturiser/oil for wrinkly dry skin

I forget to take off my Clarins moisturising mask last night & my skin felt much better this morning. I think I need a heavy duty cream or oil at night, any recommendations?

I love the Aldi restorative day and night creams. They are equal if not better than clarins and even come in a glass jar, not bad for a fiver!

Clarins blue orchid oil. It's lovely. I always leave my clarins mask on over-night, if your skin wasn't dehydrated, you'd feel the need to take it off.

Also, Clarins hydraquench serum works wonders for me, I just use it until the bottle runs out (like a prescription), every morning under my moisturiser and it rehydrated my skin beautifully.

I suppose it depends though if your skin is dry or dehydrated?

I don't have an Aldi but I can get Clarins.
What's the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?
I'm late 40s & peri menopausal. And wrinkly.

Dry is flakey.

Try this to see if it's dehydrated: press the length of your forefinger into your skin on your cheek and slightly upwards. If your skin has wavy lines in it, it is dehydrated. Chances are, most people are slightly dehydrated but strong, wavy creases are definitely a sign.

Are you drinking plenty of water?

Try decleor night balm. I'm a therapist and people love this product. You can also leave in ur mask over night if it's a hydration mask but not too often once a month.

I have used the YSL youth serum am and pm for the last few weeks and it has had an amazing effect. Normally I use decleor neroil in the day and the balm at night

Dry skin lacks oil and dehydrated skin lacks water.

I apply oil and moisturiser at night. Sometimes I use Origins Drink Up mask as a night cream.

I've done the test & I'm dehydrated.
I drink loads of water, eat avocados & oily fish so I'm thinking a topical treatment is the solution.
I've got some vastly overpriced Clains serum but I think I need heavy duty stuff.

Look for products with hyaluronic acid. I love the Eucerin serum. Other people have great results with Hydraluron.

I was going to mention advocados! They are supposed to be anti ageing. Do you have the double serum? What cleanser and moisturiser do you use?

bluebayou · 07/04/2014 15:01

I love the LIDL moisturisers , very good and inexpensive . make my skin look great

I also love the Aldi products for the skin, they really give the skin a boost as good as any of the more expensive ones I would say.
