Platinum blonde shall I?

This is my first time posting but I really need some advice.

For a while now I've wanted to go platinum blonde as I'm very pale and my hair is already highlighted blonde.

The thing us, whenever I go to the salon, they always convince me to go and have highlights again! Argh! Has anyone else found this?

Anyway, my friends think it's because the highlight are more expensive than all over bleach and that's why they don't want to do it. Last time they said if I bought these products that were over £60 - and keep going on with the full head highlights for another few months - they might be able to do it. I just felt taken advantage of so moved hairdresser. My new hairdresser says platinum blonde will look great and I'm booked in for Monday.

The thing is, now I've got someone to do it, I'm dithering! Honestly!

What do you think of women in early 30s going platinum - will it look cheap.

Any advise gratefully received. :)

X

How about chunky platinum streaks at the sides? When it's down people will only see flashes of it and when it's up it'll look more dramatic so you have the choice.

I think it can look good but just to agree with others I do think it needs to be on shorter hair to work otherwise it does look Donatella -y or worse.

Only time it's worked really well on me was when I had a lightly ( not orange) tanned face, but your skin tone is lighter than mine and that works with platinum.

I have very short hair and went platinum blonde some time ago ( dark hair but gone quite grey in places now ) I love it , do it at home wouth Schwartzkopf Live! XXL HD00A. its easy to use , Go for it!

If you think it looks slightly brassy use a blue shampoo (my hairdresser recommended this one) a couple of times after colouring it

So I did it! The hairdresser said it would be fine and it was I've attached a picture taken late last night so sorry if looking tired!

I'm very much in love with my hair and I don't think this shade is ageing to me, she used a peachy pearlescent toner to give the end colour.

At first it was yellow and I had a silent freak out but after the toner had been washed off I could see what colour it was really and was like thank f*ck!

If anyone's thinking about it I think it's given my whole look a new lease of life :) people at work think I look like the dragon made in game of thrones and her hair is gorgeous so I'll take that! :)

I need to have my roots done in 5 weeks time and although there was no discomfort during the bleaching process, my scalp feels a but tight today which I've been assured is normal.

Love it! Makes you look more fashionable, if that makes sense- the old colour was gorgeous, but very classy, rather than trendy. This ones so striking! The peach rinse is great isn't it- I found people will talk to you for ages, then ask 'is your hair peach??' in the middle of a sentence! Just seems to have a look of it in a certain light.

Flux500 I absolutely love your hair!

I see you had it done back in April so am curious to know if you've kept it up? Thinking of going a similar shade myself.

Bleach will snap your hair off and damage it beyond repair! Highlights will build up and get lighter and lighter, eventually achieving a platinum blonde but leaving you with some hair! Bleach kills your hair fibre.... I've seen girls with hair above their ears from bleach damage ??

fux, i have found this! i don't want to go platinum blonde but the hairdressers are always so cautious. I want to go red and they won't let me. I'm sure it wouldn't be a disaster though, i have green eyes and I'm really pale. why they talk me out of it every time I don't know.

Good luck!
