Any advice as to miracles that will make me glowing and gorgeous by Saturday?
My last date was in the Summer when I had a bit of a summery glow Sad

Drink gallons of water, exfoliate and moisturise. Not sure if will make a huge diff by Sat but it's a start.

Quick fixes: Get a really good under eye concealer. Shape eyebrows and colour in if needed.

Dye hair if any grey strays are showing?

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 03/04/2014 18:01

Use a bronzer on bridge of nose and lightly on forehead to fake the summer glow!

Scarletohello · 03/04/2014 18:04

Origins Vitazing is v good for giving u a bit of a glow! Or some fake tan after exfoliating!

Maybe a glossing treatment for your hair?

Scarletohello · 03/04/2014 18:04

False eyelashes?

Scarletohello · 03/04/2014 18:05

And how old are you anyway?

Just cos the ' old and haggard' may just be in your mind sweetie...:)

PigletJohn · 03/04/2014 18:30

dim lightbulbs, or candlelight.

SilkStalkings · 03/04/2014 18:42

Get eyebrows shaped. Avoid eyeliner. Light creamy pearl eyeshadow from lash to brow and brown mascara not black (unless you are dark skinned.)
If you don't like foundation, try any old cheap primer (George at Asda's one is great!) in its place.

rockpink · 03/04/2014 20:57

Ah bless you, I shall do the glugging water from now til Saturday, it will help!
I am 39 and have eyebrows so pale they disappear, that will also definitely help, thanks!
Origins vitazing....where do I get that from?

Cut down on sugar and carbs in general, up protein, sleep and fresh air. Then YSL Touché Éclat foundation, a highlighter like Benefit High Beam and NARS Orgasm blusher or the cheapo Sleek version, black mascara and a little taupe eyeshadow. A Rimmel lipgloss applied regularly. Lots of scented body moisturiser, defuzzed and a new drapey and slightly revealing top in a colour that really suits you, with black cigarette trousers and high heels. Half a glass of wine while you get ready.

And smile lots Wink

fs

i think the water thing is a myth and often any change in diet often results in zits in the short term

eye brows are a good idea. a decent outfit will make you feel better
I know it sounds naff but a bit of fake tan is often a good idea ..the clinique light one is good imo

I like to look either natural or like a slightly panda eyed nude lipped rocky looking type

I think that the maybelline foundations and highlighter are really good if you are on a budget actually their cream blush is also great
any old lip liner and a lip balm looks great and not too sticky
maybelline also do a nude shade called rose poudre nail polish which is amazing and looks natural but polished

slap loads of conditioner on your hair wrap in cling film and leave it on in front of the telly
it'll make your hair look better

mostly though...ignore all this bollocks and have a laugh
he won't notice your make up or glowyness

rockpink · 04/04/2014 07:43

Awww thanks Smile I just would like to make a good impression.

I literally bumped into someone else (in tesco!) who I'd been talking to on match.com and he said "well i did not recognise you, cos look nothing like your pictures"

my pictures are from a night out, taking a selfie in the ladies! Smile

Try making a scrub with coconut oil and sugar, I did this morning and feel more radiant after it even though I had no sleep and am generally a bit of a state!

rockpink · 05/04/2014 15:53

Got Rose Poudre nail polish (v nice thanks RonaldMcDonald) had conditioner on 12 hours Confused and a moisturising face mask, if I have a wee nap now I might look alright!

Once you have woken up we will need more details Wink

rockpink · 06/04/2014 17:26

Oh ok, I'll tell you Smile..I decided against a short skirt and went for knee length, plus knee boots.
He was very nice, although nervous, we had a drink, a meal and then a coffee, wouldn't let me pay for anything at all. He didnt ask to see me again though. No flirting, or anything!
Oh well !
Thanks for all your advice though. Thanks

Oh we'll, it's all good practiceGrin.

PigletJohn · 06/04/2014 20:05

if you liked him enough to want to see him again, text or email to say so. You said he is nervous. Faint heart never won fair gentleman. Nothing ventured nothing gained. etc.

rockpink · 06/04/2014 22:22

Well I did text but there's nothing "there" iykwim, no flirting. ..I shall text tomorrow and ask shall we meet again...to be fair every time our bodies touched accidentally, I moved out of the way so perhaps i feel it is not meant to be!

SilkStalkings · 07/04/2014 07:45

PumpkinsMummy · 07/04/2014 14:30
