Literally, cos I have lost weight (yay) so am down to a size 12 thus need basically all new stuff. Semi regretting giving all my old 12s away to friends or charity shops but after dd i really thought i'd never managed to get back down!!!

So far have bought:
per una jeans
dotty p jeans (never had before, but friend told me they were great)
some short sleeved tops (basic m and s but cool colours... a green one and a cherry one)
black casual, not q combatty trews from m and s

(see a theme)
nice 3/4 sleeve white and patterned top from next
blue striped, over white vest top, top from next

bit annoyed cos went out today to a town that i KNEW had a next that did petite (i'm 5ft2)only to find out they don't anymore. grr.

and apart from a few other tops that is basically all i have.

dh has said I can have (within reason lol) free rein of the joint account (normally we buy our things from the money we have payed into our own accounts, fron joint iyswim) cos it is such a big thing me having managed to lose the weight. But That still means I am limited cos we're not rich.

I'm really looking for everyday stuff - i'll get things for occasions as and when (although I had an excited moment when i realised i may well fit inot my going away outfit, which as i got pg within weeks of our wedding, i never wore again, so after 4 years it may get an airing at a wedding in 2 weeks time)

Me. well, as i said I'm 5ft2, so although i have lost and still have a bit of weight to lose, i am not a skinny build. I'm not renowned for being trendy or very fashion aware. so help help help.

thanks!!!

slightly panicking about this cos as fun as it is to get new stuff, it is daunting that i need so much on not v much money. I just didn;t realise i had got to the point where i needed new clothes til people said that things loked baggy and i suddenly noticed things were falling down lol.

how many items do i really need for a core wardrobe????

arrrrgh!

I think you need a jacket that could be dressed up or down

Some smartish trousers - linen maybe?

What you have bought so far sounds great, all mixable etc

AllieBongo · 19/08/2006 16:24

sorry, hi-jack I'm crap with clothes...
Hi MamaG, was wondering where you've been?

MamaG · 19/08/2006 16:26

I've replied to your thread for stoppinatwo

FrannyandZooey · 19/08/2006 16:47

I think you need a dress or two or a couple of skirts. Wrap dresses look lovely on nearly all shapes and can be worn with jeans for a different look. Shift dresses are in for this autumn, do they suit your figure? Again they look good with jeans.

Don't just spend all your time in jeans, dress up and stand out a bit. If you've lost weight why not show it off and look nice?

scoobytwo · 19/08/2006 17:08

wow sz12 congrats, now you can wear what ever you want proudly,as FrannyandZooey says go for dressed, skirts too as youve now got the figure

alittlebitshy · 20/08/2006 10:26

can you show me what you mean by the dresses???

i think i have a vague idea but i'd like to know what i'm looking for.

this is so exciting.

got new jeans on today and a top that is a 14 but was previously a big, er, snug lol. thing is it's chilly but i'm darned if i'll cover up new clothes with baggy jumpers. [vain ]

must get nice new cardi or similar in decent size.
