Style Lessons Learned On Holiday:

  1. Do not go lingerie shopping with your four-year-old DS, unless you really actually want Sponge Bob Square Pants pants. Which your DS will insist on you wearing, as much as possible.
  1. Racerback tanks are nice. Racerback bras a) are always padded (why?) and b) will show anyway.

  2. Those plastic shoes are actually pretty comfortable.

Actually Janeite, that bright green top that you thought made you look so cute, really makes you look like Shrek - on a bad day.

Do they REALLY make Sponge Bob underwear? SCARY!!!

NotQuiteCockney · 19/08/2006 16:09

Oh dear, re: bright green top. They do make sponge bob underwear, in adult women's sizes. Oddly enough, it was on sale (imagine!). I have three different styles.

Oh, and I've now realised the straps are too long on the racerback tanks, so will have to shorten them somehow.

I learned:-

  1. Take wellies when going to stay on a farm. In England.

  2. You WILL regret leaving your "nice" shoes at home, when you go for that meal in your beachy flip flops

I've decided longish city shorts look ok on me (just below knee). I already knew the normal ones looked like poo.

LMAO at Spongebob pants

I am shocked at you wearing those croc things. They are taking over the world. Why???

Are you still having a good time?

NotQuiteCockney · 20/08/2006 13:02

The Spongebob pants are funny. Not least as DS1 has maybe seen five minutes of spongebob, once. But loves him anyway.

I am having an ok time. We are having a big brunch today, my dad is coming down (I haven't seen him yet, this trip, he's apparently not very well).

I'm anxious about the trip, worried I'll end up driving if he's in a bad way. Oh, and DH is off to NYC today, so I can't go running for a few days, probably.

Having scrutinised DP's holiday photos, I would recommend retaining no visual evidence whatsoever of oneself on holiday.

NotQuiteCockney · 26/08/2006 03:09

I've figured out the cause of the visible bra problem, I need to shorten the straps on the racerback tanks. Pity I hate sewing, eh?

And I've discovered that although normal city shorts look like ass on me, the ones that go just below the knee look great. So I got two pairs of those from Esprit, who I couldn't afford, or fit into, when I lived here.

Oh, MI, my fix for that problem is to always be the one with the camera, if there is one.
